Alexa Toyas

Alexa is an ENL teacher at Hampton Bays High School. She became an ENL teacher after being a volunteer TA at CARECEN for adults learning English to pass their citizenship exam. Growing up, her grandpa, who was a pilot, would share stories about the diverse group of countries and cultures he experienced. Toyas had always been interested by traveling (she lived abroad by herself 3 times!) and learning about other perspectives. She’d like to learn how to help ELLs share their culture and ideas through art even more!
