Laura Reeder
Laura K. Reeder, Ph.D. is Curriculum Director for the PEACE Project. As a veteran teaching artist and arts education activist, she ensures that our critical community of practice across arts, education, and cultural partners centers on the needs of diverse students.
Dr. Reeder guides professional development, curriculum design, implementation, and assessment. She was Curriculum Coordinator for over 9 years with the USDOE AEMDD “C3” project at Eastern Suffolk BOCES.
She is a national leader for arts education policy, arts integration, arts-based practices, and artist-teacher preparation programs. Her publications interrogate arts education and social contexts. She is currently a lecturer for Arts Education Advocacy and Policy at Boston University, reviewer for the Arts Education Partnership ArtsEdSearch, and The International Journal of Education through the Arts. She has held leadership positions with the National Arts Education Association, Americans for the Arts, the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the NYS Council on the Arts, Massachusetts College of Art & Design, and Partners for Arts Education.
