Susanne Harnett
Dr. Susanne Harnett is a Managing Senior Associate at Metis Associates. Dr. Harnett has over 25 years of experience with program evaluation, research design, sampling methodology, field research, qualitative and quantitative methodology, data maintenance, and technical writing. She has served as the principal researcher on several large-scale evaluations of educational programs and is currently overseeing a team of six researchers who manage over 30 research and evaluation projects. Her research interest areas include arts education, social-emotional learning, childhood resiliency, habits of mind, and 21st-century skills. Dr. Harnett has led research and evaluation projects for NYC DOE’s Office of Arts and Special Projects, Young Audiences Arts for Learning, the Center for Educational Innovation, Patchogue Arts Center, Lincoln Center Education, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, NAMM, and Studio in a School, among others. She is experienced in the design and implementation randomized and quasi-experimental evaluation designs, is the author of several professional articles, and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Research Methods in Social Science, Implementation Research, Qualitative Research, Child Development, Educational Psychology, Learning and Behavior, and Human Development. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Virginia.
